Research Interests

David Karger is a Professor of Computer Science at CSAIL MIT. One of his focus areas is “Applied Algorithms,” the application of algorithmic techniques to the solution of computationally challenging problems. Another is Information Management, where he draws on techniques from databases, machine learning, and HCI to create tools that help users more effectively manage their information corpora.  David leads the Haystack group at CSAIL, which researches many facets of information management including capture, organization, retrieval, sharing, and visualization.
